Rondo has vacancies for TWO Technical Assistants to work in our MCR departments: one in Cardiff and the other in Caernarfon. The successful candidates will play a key part in the daily running of the department.
Working with a team of experienced editors, engineers and IT specialists, appropriate technical training will be provided.
The successful candidates will work within a Machine Room and IT department as part of a team responsible for the technical quality of programmes distributed to different broadcasters.
Main Responsibilities:
- Downloading and ingesting media in preparation for editing
- Exporting and evaluation of media/finished programmes
- Working on live broadcasts
- Coordinate effectively with technical and non-technical staff
- Diagnose equipment and system issues
- Help with planning and workflow of new post-production projects
- The set-up and configuration of edit suites
- Working in association with IT/Engineering management to support all aspects of the company’s technical operations
Essential:
- An understanding of the Welsh language
- Basic IT Skills
- Basic knowledge of networking and operating systems
- Attention to detail
- Occasionally working on many tasks at once within a busy environment
- Committed to continuous personal development
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A systematic approach to problem solving
Desirable:
- Being able to communicate through the medium of Welsh.
- Having worked in a broadcast environment
- Holding a Full UK Driving licence
- Understanding of Avid Products
The successful candidates will be required to work flexible hours which will occasionally include evenings / weekends and bank holidays. Working away from base will occasionally be required.
